Robust in Any Environment: Hall-Based Angle Sensor IC with High Stray-Field Immunity and Auto-Calibration from Conntek

MEV is expanding its portfolio of high-precision position sensing solutions with the new Hall-based KTH7114 encoder IC. In addition to high resolution, a high level of integration and automatic calibration, the device stands out in particular for one key feature: its excellent immunity to stray magnetic fields, enabling reliable angle measurement even in electromagnetically challenging environments.

Reliable Measurement Despite External Magnetic Fields

In modern drive systems, particularly compact BLDC motors, external magnetic fields and stray fields are becoming an increasing challenge. The KTH7114 has been specifically designed to minimize these influences.

Thanks to an optimized sensor architecture and intelligent signal processing, angle measurement remains stable and precise even in the presence of disturbing magnetic fields from the surrounding environment. This provides developers with:

  • significantly increased system robustness
  • stable measurement results without additional shielding measures
  • simplified mechanical and electromagnetic design

Its high stray-field immunity makes the KTH7114 an ideal choice for applications involving high currents, limited installation space or demanding EMC requirements.

Smart Calibration Reduces System Effort

The KTH7114 also features integrated Automatic Nonlinearity Compensation (ANLC). Mechanical tolerances and magnetic deviations are automatically detected and compensated, eliminating the need for external calibration in most applications.

The result is shorter development time, lower system cost and consistently high measurement accuracy throughout the entire product lifecycle.

High Performance for Dynamic Control Loops

With high-resolution absolute position data and extremely low latency, the KTH7114 is ideally suited for dynamic motion-control applications. Flexible interfaces including SPI and SSI, as well as incremental ABZ and UVW signals, allow easy integration into a wide range of system architectures.
