MEV Elektronik has expanded its Fortior portfolio with three families of three-phase gate drivers for motor applications using external MOSFET or IGBT power stages. The FD6187, FD6288 and FD6636 families cover applications ranging from typical 24 V and 48 V drives up to high-voltage systems with operating voltages of up to 600 V.

Each device integrates three independent half-bridge gate drivers, providing the six high-side and low-side gate signals required for a three-phase power stage. Depending on the voltage class and application, the devices differ primarily in gate drive current, supply voltage and integrated protection features.
The FD6187 is designed for three-phase MOSFET power stages with operating voltages of up to 180 V. With a gate drive current of ±0,8 A and a supply voltage range of 5 to 22 V, the device can be directly interfaced with 3,3 V or 5 V logic.
Integrated features including undervoltage lockout (UVLO), cross-conduction prevention, deadtime insertion and input filtering support reliable operation of the power stage. The FD6189 is also available as a closely related 140 V version.
For higher-power applications, the FD6288 family supports operating voltages of up to 250 V and provides a gate drive current of +1,5 A/-1,8 A. The device operates from a 5 to 20 V supply and integrates VCC and VBS undervoltage lockout, shoot-through protection, 200 ns deadtime and input signal filtering.
The FD6288 is available in both TSSOP20 and compact QFN24 packages. The FD6288Q1 provides an additional automotive version, while the closely related FD6287 extends the 250 V family with a further device option.
The FD6636 extends the portfolio into the 600 V class. The three-phase gate driver is designed for external MOSFET and IGBT power stages and provides a gate drive current of +0,21 A/-0,36 A.
In addition to undervoltage lockout, cross-conduction prevention, deadtime insertion and input filtering, the FD6636 integrates overcurrent protection as well as an Enable input for centrally disabling all six gate outputs.
With these three gate-driver families, Fortior covers a broad range of three-phase motor-drive applications. Developers can optimise the external power stage for the required voltage, current and power semiconductor technology while using gate drivers specifically designed for motor-control applications.
