Flyback regulators are the first solution on the market available with 1700V GaN technology. A second output voltage can be realized via a secondary winding. They are suitable for nominal input voltages of 1000V and can provide multiple output voltages with an efficiency of over 90%. Downstream regulation is often unnecessary, as the output voltages can be regulated with an accuracy of 1%, which can significantly improve system efficiency.
By integrating many components into a single IC, the cost of the BOM can be reduced. The high efficiency of PowiGan technology eliminates the need for heat sinks.
